The Lexus GS offers excellent value, a beautiful cabin and enough performance for all but the hardcore BMW faithful for whom anything less than the Ultimate Driving Machine is unacceptable.

The 2012 Hyundai Accent is a compelling product that’s priced right and comes with the features that consumers are gravitating towards in droves. It is arguably the choice vehicle in a segment that will matter more and more.

Mitsubishi threw all of its eggs into the performance basket, and if this is the kind of omelet you want, you will be richly rewarded. The Evo will bring you unbridled joy behind the wheel long after the tastemakers have moved on to the next “must-have” luxury car.

There’s no question that the Chevrolet Sonic is a very compelling choice in the subcompact segment. Competition in the segment is stiff, and Chevrolet has found a way to set itself apart.

When everyone else is trying to advance the game to new levels of equipment, technology and gadgets, the CR-V is making incremental improvements to a formula that has proved successful. I am confident that Honda got it right here.

With the ability to sprint to 60 mph, tow a horse trailer and carry five oversized adults in comfort, the F-150 Ecoboost doesn’t fail to live up to its jack-of-all-trades billing. It is an eminently practical, utilitarian beast that lacks nothing in the way of creature comforts or performance.

The Buick Regal GS is a nice car. It is very attractive, and it works well on the open road.
