2013
Subaru BRZ
Coupe |
By keeping the BRZ light, Subaru got a sharper-feeling sports machine than the WRX. The BRZ may be even sharper than the STi. The world hasn’t seen an entry-priced sports car this pure since the original Mazda Miata, way back in 1990.

Honda CR-V
SUV/Truck |
The fact that Honda (mostly) hit a home run on interior comfort, trim, packaging and styling helps, but it’s the way this Honda drives that’s going to keep the CR-V a leader in the entry crossover slot.

MINI Coupe
Coupe |
The Coupe is comfortable enough for long hours of driving, and it’s the most viscerally engaging Mini — which is a high bar.

Mercedes-Benz M-Class BlueTEC
SUV/Truck |
The 2010 Mercedes ML350 BlueTec isn’t a sports car, but its character is more like that of luxury sedan than you’d expect.

Nissan Versa
Sedan |
Vanilla, but solid and confident. That might sound damning, but Versa delivers precisely the pleasant character a mass-appeal car should.
